Date Event
23/09/2007 Replaced some broken links with live ones.
12/09/2007 New releases of my SFColours and SFSkyEdit editor applications, to fix bugs related to handling of drag and drop data transfer from other applications.
28/04/2007 Almost one year since the last version of Star Fighter 3000! Will it be the last? I have done a minor update to SFSkyEdit to allow it to export selected colours as a Sprite file, when pasting from the clipboard or dragging a selection to another application. Update on recent progress towards finishing SFeditor.
15/03/2007 Added an old (1994 vintage) demo of Star Fighter 3000 to the downloads page. Try it on modern machines at your own risk.
14/03/2007 Moved the background image and fall-back colour for table headings to the style sheet. This should ensure consistent display when the style sheet is not available (or disabled).
05/02/2007 Removed a broken link to a review of the PCJoy interface (lost in the recent revamp of Acorn Arcade).
19/01/2007 Update on progress of SFeditor (including new screen shot).
14/12/2006 I have been experimenting with mosaic image compression (like that used for Star Fighter 3000 maps).
06/12/2006 Removed Acorn Arcade banner (the file seems to have vanished in their reorganisation).
26/11/2006 Optimisation of SFColours and SFSkyEdit has allowed me to shave 4 KB off their initial memory requirements. That is thirty-two thousand, seven hundred and sixty-eight binary bits. Makes you glad to be alive, doesn't it? Mmm...?
Possibly of more interest is the fact that I have steeled myself to return to SFeditor for the first time in months.
23/11/2006 A very minor bug in SFColours has been fixed, and there is also a new version of SFSkyEdit.
18/11/2006 New versions of all my Star Fighter 3000 utilities. The most significant change is that SFtoSpr can now decode and create sky colours files, which allows access to the raw pixel data (unlike SFSkyEdit, which works at a higher level).
10/11/2006 I have made significant improvements to SFtoSpr (having discovered that its handling of sky pictures files was obscurely flawed). SFSkyEdit and SFColours can now import CSV files, and now save selected colours in this format by default. Finally got rid of the RedefKeys application, which had long been obsolete.
25/10/2006 It is now possible to copy selected colours seamlessly between SFSkyEdit and SFColours. The latter has been updated to support the global clipboard. Both applications will now export colour numbers in CSV format if requested by the recipient.
18/10/2006 Five years on from its original release, I have given SFSkyEdit a major overhaul. The principle changes are that it now supports the global clipboard and drag-and-drop protocols. Removed 'news' more than one year old from this page.
